PERSPECTIVES

Form Workshop combines geometric and computational craft with its driving force: architectural and design intent.

Perspectives addresses the artistic, architectural and philosophical questions behind the tools we use. What do computational methods make possible? How do they affect architectural thinking? Where does the designer’s judgement enter?

Perspectives can establish the conceptual foundation of a course through examples and critical discussion of algorithmic design. It returns during the course as a space for developing design intentions and concludes through presentation, discussion and reflection on the participants’ work.

Technology expands what can be made. The designer decides what should be made.
